Protein and Carbohydrate Breakdown
It, however, depends on what kind you are consuming. For a Bariatric patient and a weight loss conscious person chicken brats are a perfect fit. Bratwurst is a high-protein, low-carb food, which makes it beneficial if you are following a low-carb diet. One 85-gram link contains about 12 grams of protein and only 2 grams of carbs. The protein content derives from the pork. All animal meats have a high amount of protein. The recommended daily intake for this macronutrient is 46 grams for women and 56 grams for men.

Knowledge Sutra
According to the great food historian-Alan Davidson the best sausage makers were in the colder countries like Germany as opposed to Mediterranean countries where food was more available during the cooler months. The best-cured sausages seem came from mountainous regions where the dryer northern winds helped in the curing process. Where does the word Bratwurst come from? One theory is that Brat is an Old High German word (spoken between the 9th and 11th centuries) that means ….meat without waste ….and Wurst means sausage and probably comes from the word wirren that originally meant…. mixture.

Everyone should make this it’s a show stopper!! We have guests over all the time and its so fun to try new recipes 😊

Geramin out did herself this time. The food she prepared with her spices was top notch and as tasty as ever. My top favorite is… I can’t decide cuz they were all fantastic, shrimp salad, arugula salad, brats, pork, saugages. The appetizer with ground pork and water chestnuts were a hit!!
