2 Heads Bib Lettuce
1 Pound Ground chicken, beef or pork
2 Teaspoons Geramin La Brie’s Garam Masala
1 Tablespoon Oyster flavored sauce Can be found in the Chinese section of any grocery store-or soy sauce
1/2 Inch Minced Ginger Root
1 Can diced tiny Water Chestnuts
1/4 Cup Diced Celery
4 Cloves Minced Garlic
1 Small Onion Onion
1 Bunch Green Onions

Lettuce wraps with Geramin La Brie’s Garam Masala

An appetizer or even a meal, the Garam Masala adds a great flavor to this otherwise bland dish!

Sauté the onions, garlic, and ginger on medium heat for about 5 mins- add the ground chicken and slightly brown it – till chicken beef or pork is cooked then add the oyster-flavored sauce or the soy sauce and Garam masala. Add the vegetables –celery- before removing from the stove add the water chestnuts and the green onions.
Serve on bib lettuce- a great meal –a low-calorie meal full of protein and vitamins.

Use Minced vegetables-of your choice –carrots, peas, beans, bean sprouts-(optional)

Lettuce Wraps have been around probably for thousands of years originating in Southeast Asia, but recently have become popular in many restaurants, across the U.S, and around the world. The obvious reason is that with concerns about carbs this is a perfect meal, tasty, fresh and nutritional. However, these were popular in Thailand and southwest Asia before the move toward a lighter carb diet.
The first I heard about them was when my boss at the restaurant said, “You have to go try the Lettuce Wraps at PF Changs!” Now you can find them on hundreds of menus around the US where they opened and around the world.
